Evolution is the email client and personal information manager – think Outlook –  which has been an integral part of the Gimp desktop on Linux for some time.

It’s been available for Mac OSX for a while, and now it has been ported to Windows too. Ace!

Thunderbird

Everyone knows about Thunderbird, the Mozilla Foundation’s free and lightweight email program (think Outlook Express but not crap).

But the first release candidate of the all new Thunderbird 2 is out now! Well worth giving a go if a desktop email client is your thing.
