Talking of crap, that’s just what I’ve been lately. My excuse: I just haven’t been as close to my internet connection as I would like to be of late. Anyway, onto today’s free beer…

The PC Decrapifier removes crapware–the system-hogging, usually unwanted programs vendors stuff onto new PCs.

FreeAVG, AdAware, ZoneAlarm

Apologies for the lack of posting recently. To make up for it, here are three security related applications in one go.

FreeAVG is a virus checker which scans your hard disk for gremlins as well as downloads and emails. Even the updates are free!

AdAware is a malware scanner. Keep you machine free of spyware etc by regularly using this. Again, updates are free.

ZoneAlarm is a software firewall which complements the inbuilt Windows one.

Sandra

SiSoftware Sandra is an information & diagnostic utility. It should provide most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software and other devices whether hardware or software.

Wink is a Tutorial and Presentation creation software, primarily aimed at creating tutorials on how to use software.

Evolution is the email client and personal information manager – think Outlook –  which has been an integral part of the Gimp desktop on Linux for some time.

It’s been available for Mac OSX for a while, and now it has been ported to Windows too. Ace!
